The term Maundy is a little slippery. Some think it refers to baskets women carried. Others think it is a form of the Latin referring to the ‘new command’ Jesus gave.
The heart of Maundy Thursday revolves around service. Jesus served his disciples and washed their feet. He also served them forgiveness by giving them his body and blood and instituting the Lord’s Supper. In today’s service we go back even further. In the Old Testament lesson from Exodus 12, we see how God served the children of Israel and brought them freedom from slavery in Egypt.
You can find the bulletin in the upper right corner of our home page under the bulletin icon (below service times).
God bless your holy week and Maundy Thursday worship
