The first weekend in May will be Confirmation. 10 young people will promise faithfulness to the Lord Jesus, who is always faithful to them. Jesus commanded his church to make disciples by baptizing and by teaching. These young people have been baptized with water and the Word, and for years have been taught to obey everything Jesus has commanded us. They have learned what Communion means and how to prepare their hearts for receiving this special sacrament. They have learned how to remain faithful to the Lord by his Word and how to share the faith with others. On Confirmation Sunday, we celebrate the Spirit’s work in these teens and their growth in faith. We also welcome them to Communion to receive Jesus’ body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. May the Lord bless these young people! “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” – Revelation 2:10
