Greetings everyone!
The first Sunday in Lent is always a test. Jesus is intensely tested in the gospel lesson by the worst fallen angel - Satan himself. The struggle deepens as we see Jesus hasn’t eaten anything for many days. Instead of capitulating to temptation, he clings to Scripture for his sure defense. At every turn our salvation is on the line and Jesus holds the line! What a Savior we have who has been tested in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin.
As Jesus held the line, may we too keep the faith in the one who knows us, sees our weakness, and still loves to forgive us our sins.
