Today we have six young people being confirmed at St. Paul’s. Confirmation is first a celebration of growth given by our Good Shepherd in the hearts and lives of his sheep. It is also a profession of faith, where they declare their trust in the triune God, Jesus as their Savior, the Bible as God’s Word and truth for their lives. In Confirmation, it is also acknowledged that these young people are able to examine themselves and welcomed to Communion. Finally, they promise to be faithful to the Lord even to the point of death, when God gives the crown of life obtained by Christ to all who believe in him. Our sermon today is from Acts 2.
