It had been a busy week for Jesus. He drove the money changers out of the temple. He taught in the temple courts each day. He evaded the trick questions of the Pharisees and Sadducees and countered them with wisdom and authority. He denounced the hypocrisy of the Jewish leaders and counseled about the end times. Now it was time for the Passover, which had been celebrated for well over a thousand years. But this would not be the same. It would be new: a new command to love one another, a new meal to continue, and most importantly, A New Covenant of Forgiveness in Christ. Our sermon is based on Luke 22.
