The English title “Good Friday” for the day of Christ’s death is a derivative of “God’s Friday”. In the same way that the old expression of farewell, “God be with you” became our modern “goodbye,” so God’s Friday has come to us as Good Friday. This is God’s day – the day God would bring a Lamb to sacrifice. There is nothing better for us – for our families, for our future, for our life – than Good Friday. Our sermon is based on John 19.
