Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. In this season of the Church Year, we review the sufferings and death of our Savior, by which our forgiveness was accomplished. On Ash Wednesday, we ponder the death which our sin has earned and the death which our Savior endured for us. Ashes are a symbol of repentance and sorrow over our sins. Lord, have mercy on us! Our sermon is based on 2 Corinthians 5-6.
